My mother is 54 years of age. She is suffering from kidney stone in her right kidney about 9 mm size. She is also diabetes patient. About 9 months back she was operated (ESWL) for kidney stone in her left kidney. Is it recommend to operate again in kidney. Is there any other way to remove stones. Which doctor/specialist to consult urologist or nephrologist.

Best way to completely remove a 9 mm stone from kidney is to get RIRS done by a urologist. It is endoscopic removal of stone which does not involve any incision or stitch.
