Dear Lybrate User, ADHD stands for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, a condition with symptoms such as inattentiveness, impulsivity and hyperactivity. The symptoms differ from person to person. ADHD was formerly called ADD, or attention deficit disorder. There is no single test that can be used to diagnose attention deficit hyperactivity disorder in children and adults. Depending on the number and type of symptoms, a person will be diagnosed with one of three subtypes of ADHD: Primarily Inattentive, Primarily Hyperactive or Combined sub type You have to be physically seen by a psychologist.
