Hi, If iodine intake is essential and if most of the common salt producers add iodine to the salt which will prevent iodine deficiency how is that hypothyroidism is so prevalent with women? There must be something more to it. Please advise.

Iodized salt does not work and do more harm than good. One should eat natural rock salt. Hypothyroidism has other causes as well. It is a hormonal imbalance which can be caused due to wrong lifestyle and food habits.
