It needs regular follow up and blood sugar monitoring and other investigations (to check if all other organs are working properly ). Ideally you should visit a doctor (Diabetologist) who can assess your overall health status. Once having started on medications a personal review after a month or early would be suggested (if the meds have worked for you will be known then ).

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. Fasting glucose 140 mg & PP 200 mg/ 100 ml, shows you need appropriate antidiabetic medication, plus strict diet control and regular exercise, then only proper control can be achieved. In this communication we are supposed to give general suggestions like what type of food to be taken or avoided and how much exercise one has to etc. No drugs can be prescribed. So if you are interested in online consultation please come back with following details: current fasting, PP glucose levels, HbA1c%, diet pattern, extent of daily exercise, weight and height and details of any medications being taken. It is better if you come in a private conversation (paid consultation), then I will be able to guide specifically and also prescribe the needed medicine. Thanks.
