In India Non Tubercular Mycobacteria are first to infect. By the age of three years almost every one gets infected but disease does not happen. In fact if protects from Tuberculosis with cross antigenicity. The tests to diagnose when disease is not present are very specialized tests and there is no meaning of positive or negative results. If you have disease like lymphnode swelling or pleural effusion then slide identification tests or cultures can confirm the diagnosis.
