I am a male, 64 years old, with 153 cm height & 81 kg weight, non-diabetic, vegetarian with the slight spurt in BP occasionally, leading an almost stress free sedentary life with the steady income from the corpus and pension, but attending on my Ischemic stroke affected wife for almost 24 hours whose temperament is uncertain. I am having Asthma, sleep apnea, urine bladder cyst and knee joint pain. I am treated on by the specialists in the respective fields. All of them advise me to lose weight, which is difficult for me since I don't do any physical exercise and temperamentally I hate walking and socializing with people. Especially my Urologist tells me that my obesity is just because of my eating habits. Consequently, I have stopped having my breakfast almost for the last 2 years and take one or two cups of coffee with normal sugar and one or two bananas till 12 noon. I take my lunch consisting of almost 50 ml- made- of- boiled white rice, sambar, rasam and curd with cooked country vegetables and a deep-fried outsourced Vada occasionally. I take a cup of coffee in the evening with one or two biscuits or one banana. My dinner usually is three or four doses or 5 idlys. I take a cup of milk at bed-time but not regularly. Kindly advise me a diet chart if this food - routine is not okay. (I have to tell you that I don't have any diet restriction on the occasions of marriage feast and other rare occasions of buffets, not exceeding 15 days in a year.) kindly advise me how to reduce at least 10 kg of my weight in the year 2018 My new year greetings!

It is not only the weight you need to reduce. You have nutritional deficiencies as well. Your diet schedule is giving you higher calories than you need, with very low nutrition level. In general I can tell you what to do and what not. For detailed plan it is better to contact directly. 1. Do not have coffee empty stomach. Have herbal tea by boiling household herbs & spices without sugar. Have heavier breakfast with more fruits upto afternoon. 2. Have 1 serving of raw/steamed vegetables. If possible replace white rice with brown or red rice. 3. Have low or no carb dinner. Dosas and idly are very high in carbs 4. Avoid dairy - milk and curd, they are difficult to digest without physical activities. 5. Take 30 mins of sunlight between 11 - 2 PM. All the best.
