Ultrasound is absolutely safe in pregnancy. As per norms every pregnancy should have atleast 3 ultrasounds, one each in every trimester. Good practice guidelines also recommend 5 as follows: Early pregnancy for diagnosis and foetal viability 1)11 to 13 weeks NB /NT Scan 2)18 to 20 weeks targetted anomaly scan 3) 32 weeks routine well being with EFBW and for placental migration if applicable 4) 36 to 38 weeks for AFI and EFBW prior to termination of pregnancy or induction of labour. However, your obstetrician may ask for a few more scans if need be. Be asssuared though ultrasound is safe in pregnancy.
