Hi. What if I forgot to wash my nipples and breastfeed my baby. What can happen and how to handle it? I am asking for Nipcare cream, and baby is 12 days old. Please advise me

No need to wash nipple before breast feeding. No need of any cream.

Nothing to worry. It is desirable to wash /sponge the breast before each feeding. But in practice it is not always practical. I do not think nipcare is at all necessary. Moreever mothers milk has so much protective antibodies and immunoglobulin to fighr the infection. So enjoy your mothethood and extend benefit of exclusive breast feeding for first 6 months Best wishes

Hi lybrate-user Hello, Yes you should wash. Any moisturising cream contains harmful chemical ingredients which are only for external use and can cause health hazards specially in case of new born if ingested in excess.
