My mother is 55 years of age. For the past 5 years she has been suffering from some form of arthritis, knee synovitis in the left leg. She feels a burning sensation in the foot. It becomes severe when she is not taking calcium. She doesn't feel any pain but feels weakness, shaking and lack of agility in her left leg only. She has taken extensive treatment from experienced doctors in Delhi but she doesn't feel satisfied. She has decided to drop all allopathic treatment and switch to Ayurveda. She does not take a balanced diet and doesn't stick to a routine. Please advise what we should do as in continue with the allopathic treatment or shift course. Thank You.

Very difficult to satisfy patients who are immune to good counselling and who are not willing to take control of their health in own hands. You might take a rheumatologist opinion if you haven't already. The question is what is an exact diagnosis, if its osteoarthritis, none of the medications are great, only exercise and weight control is best. If its something else or another form of arthritis, there may be some decent treatment available in allopathy. Best wishes.
