I slept at 2 am and morning tested blood sugar without food at 10. 30 am. Result I got was 59. Is this the proper result or there is any constraints that we need to sleep at 10 pm and should check the blood sugar at 6 am. What to do to normalise the blood sugar level?

Eat at proper timings. And take sleep at proper time .your sugar level would be normal.

Hello lybrate-user, 59 is a bit low but still normal for a fasting sugar test. Its calculated with 7-8 hours of fasting after last meal just like you did. So if you did some physical activity after waking up it would explain the 59 mg/dl of sugar. In my opinion its a normal result. I would suggest taking a random blood sugar test (any time during day) a post prandial blood sugar test (taken 2 hours after meal) and comparing the results with normal limit which is 79?160 for random test and <140 for post prandial test.

Fasting blood sugar needs to be tested after previous day of near normal (average) activity, food intake as well as sleep. Your value of 59 is on the lower side (normal range 70 to 100), possibly because of delay in taking the sample. But this is expected in a normal non-diabetic person.
