My daughter is about to be 1 year old, and she is having cold cough in her chest. Doctor has advised Asthalin 5 ml morning and evening. I would like to know for what purpose Asthalin is used, and is it advisable to give such a small kid.

Hello, Thanks for the query. What your daughter has, is Common Cold in which the airway tubes get coated with mucous and makes them thinner making the passage of air difficult. Asthalin is a bronchodilator (medication which will melt the mucus accumulated in the airway). This melted mucus comes out as a cough, vomiting or in motion. It is commonly used in congestion for children of that age.
