I am a 34 year old gay man who uses tadalafil occasionally. I have recently started on finasteride for hair loss treatment. Can I continue to use tadalafil as before?

Dear Jason. I can understand. Tadalafil increases blood flow to particular areas of the body and is used to treat erectile dysfunction. PROSCAR (finasteride), a synthetic 4-azasteroid compound, is a specific inhibitor of steroid Type II 5?-reductase, an intracellular enzyme that converts the androgen testosterone into 5?- dihydrotestosterone (DHT). Both these medicines are contra-indicative. Please talk to your doctor before taking these together. Take care.
