Dear Lybrate user, any back pain lasting more than a week would need evaluation by an orthopaedist. Usually it is due to simple muscle sprain in the lower back region and resolves by medications (for pain relief and muscle relaxation), rest and lifestyle modification. Things to avoid - lifting weights, bending forward and sitting without support for long duration. If your work involves long sitting hours then take regular breaks and stretch your back muscles. Get well soon.

Avoid bending and weight lifting, can take pain relieving medicine with muscle relaxant, if not helping than get an MRI done.
