My husband 57 is having Epigastric Hernia for which surgery has been advised. please suggest how I can avoid surgery thru some medication. thanks.

No, surgery is the only treatment for epigastric hernia, you can use abdominal binder for the time being, avoid weight lifting, straining which can increase the size of hernia.
