Dear Lybrate User., I would suggest not more than 2 tablespoons of flax seeds shall be taken in a day. They can be roasted and ground in a grinder, and can be consumed over few weeks. Do not make a big batch as Omega 3 fatty acids in them will make it rancid if kept for too long. You could also consume roasted flaxseeds in your smoothie/ cereal/yogurt or ground powder can also be mixed in your dough for roti or any other batter that you're using for your meals. It enhances the flavors in baking like muffins, pancakes and cookies. A tablespoon of whole flax seeds, raw or cooked, contains 50 calories, 4.5 grams of total fat, 2.2 grams of protein, 3 grams of carbohydrates and 3 grams of dietary fiber.
