I had a rct for my tooth and second tooth next to it had a filling of silver which I feel has started decaying it has been nearly 20 years back when I had got it filled will d dentist extract my tooth does this happen after filling your tooth decays.

Yes it happens even after the filling the carious process donot stop due to bacterial activity or not proper removal of caries or left our carious lesion these are called secondary carios lesion occurs contct with saliva and oral environment due to micro crack.

no he might just replace your filling ... and secondly if caries is not removed properly you might inccur a pain in the tooth ... or sensation or feeling of hot or cold...
