Dear lybrate-user, 'severe cold' is a common term used for allergic rhinitis. It is caused due to some allergic reaction or could be due to some viral infection. Viral infections are self limiting and do not require any treatment in most cases. In fact it helps in building up the immune system in the body. If it is due to allergy then proper Homeopathic treatment is the best line of treatment. Do not take any anti-histamines that suppress the body's natural immune response. Symptoms of cold are a natural response of body's active immune system, do not suppress it just to get a quick relief - it will do more harm to your body in the long run. Try simple measures like steam inhalation, proper rest, lot of fluids, citrus fruit juice to manage the symptoms of cold. Still if there is a problem then consult privately. Dear lybrateuser, - Do steam inhalation twice a day - take tablet Sinarest, 1 tablet three times a day after meals with water or milk - avoid exposure to cold environment, dust, smoke, also avoid cold fluids.
