Hello- It is absolutely safe to use condom as long as you need for contraception. It is one of the safest and effective method of birth control which has least effect on the body physiology of both the partners. So keep continuing it.

Please note that condom works as a barrier method of contraception. So if you wish to have kids now, you should not use condom while having sex. Then only your sperms can meet egg of your wife and she can be pregnant.
