Dear sekhar,
what are your current dosages of psychotropics and the clear indication of each? What are your current active symptoms, though it is understandable that you have bipolar disorder but what type, I don’t know yet.
As being a pharmacist yourself, I am expecting you to have this information about yourself.
You can mail me at email to discuss these issues in detail, as it will be tricky to titrate multiple medications.
Take care.

Dear, you must be able to distinguish between mental disease and mental disorder. Your problem is a mental disorder. Not a mental disease. These mental disorders are usually treated with a combination of medicines and other means like awareness, meditation, psychotherapy techniques, life style changes etc. I think two or three counseling sessions and psychotherapy techniques should solve your problem. A good night’s sleep enables you to work tirelessly throughout the day. A good 6 to 8 hrs of sleep is essential for you to wake up chirpy and energetic. To improve sleep, you should fix a sleeping time. Meditation, listening to good music or reading can help you relax and help you sleep well. In case of anxious thoughts ,emotional problems or weird scary dreams are disturbing your sleep, the help of a doctor should be taken for proper consultation.

Dear lybrate-user,
it is nice to know that your depression improved and you are regular on your tablets. Cognitive remediation therapy can be tried either online or with a clinical psychologist who is trained into it. Rtms may not help much, since it does not reach the memory areas. Rtms will not cause further memory deficits.

Der Nazeed,
Do you want general answer for treatment of Cyclothymia?
If it a only a personality trait, it needs counselling. If it a personality disorder it needs therapy, either cognitive or interpersonal.
If it has already gone into a bipolar affective disorder (BPAD) it needs Lamotrigine in adequate dose for many years.
Steroids can cause mood changes. It needs to be assessed along with your chest allergy and infection

Dear lybrate-user,
You have tried Lamotrigine and Quetiapine for 1 year. You got results that was good.
You don't have a sleep disorder and you don't get freshness in the morning with sleeping pills.
Because you are suffering from a bipolar disorder, which is a lifetime disorder, you need lifetime medicines. It is like diabetes that needs treatment even after sugar levels become normal.
Please continue lamotrigine and quetiapine as doctor prescribed. If you have any concern of si...more
