With fertility related problems on the rise, artificial insemination has come across as a boon for many people dealing with the issue. The Insemination Treatment is used to help individuals get pregnant when there are male infertility problems and unexplained infertility where an average copulation might not be possible. There could also be a possibility of donor insemination to get pregnant. The two different types of artificial insemination procedures include the Intrauterine insemination (IUI), which is the most shared and the Intracervical insemination (ICI), also known as intravaginal insemination. The Gynecologist would do a complete exam before undertaking these procedures. The insemination process involves the gynecologist taking the sperm sample and doing an analysis of its robustness.
Once checked, the sperm is inseminated back using the artificial insemination procedure. The sperm is then implanted all the way into the uterine cavity with a thin catheter and syringe. In the case of an IUI treatment, the sperm sample will undergo a special washing and processing procedure and concentrated to maximize the chances of conception. In cases where the sperm count is negligible or if the sperm is found to be weak then donor insemination may be advised to the patient. The procedure is fairly straightforward and has advanced over the years. A pregnancy test can be conducted within weeks to determine the success of the treatment. A further procedure may be done by the gynecologist if the fertilization has not happened as per the desired medium.
