Hip Fracture is a serious condition where the hip gets broken or detached in the upper portion of the thigh bone or the femur. Hip is the joint where two or more bones meet. Hence any damage to the hip can severely impact movement and can be life-threatening if not treated immediately. There are two leading causes of hip fracture, one is a fall on a hard surface or a fall from a great height. The second is the Blunt trauma that occurs during an accident. Obesity is also one more condition that puts pressure on the hip bones, leading them to dislodge. Sometimes hip arthritis can also result in a condition where the hip gets fragile and develop a crack. Hips also tend to get affected due to old age and malnutrition. Hip arthritis symptoms and hip fracture symptoms will include severe pain in the hip and groin area, inability to put pressure on one leg for a prolonged period, the affected leg being shorter than the regular leg, swelling of the hip and bruising. A Hip Treatment would include a hip surgery where an artificial hip is put in place after removing the damaged parts. The recovery of such a surgery depends on the severity of the case and age factor, as this is one of the major surgery. Recuperation period will be lengthy and sometimes a person has to undergo physical therapy for life to get the basic movements back in the hip.
