Diabetes is a disease occurring due to defect in secretion of insulin a hormone secreted by beta cells of pancreas. There are many types of diabetes, but mainly there are two types, type 1 diabetes mellitus and t2dm. T1dm occurs because beta cells do not produce any insulin; seen in very young age including children. Only insulin injections can treat this condition. T2dm seen in adults, older aged persons. In this condition either insulin secretion is less or there is resistance to its action or both. In addition overweight, inactivity, migration to bigger cities and junk food are few of the other causes leading to diabetes. The incidence of t2dm is increasing too rapidly now a days.type diabetes
