lybrate-user , Diabetes does affect blood supply to the lower limbs as there is affection to peripheral blood vessels. Hence, in patients with long standing diabetes tend to have intermittent cludication (pain due to severe cramping, relieved by rest specially in calf muscles) on walking a certain distance, chronic ulceration on lower limbs etc. Formation of clots may also happen. These things can happen even when blood glucose may be in good control at present. Because diabetes keeps damaging blood vessels. So to find out whether there is any serious problem with the blood vessels, certain investigations may be needed. Thanks.
