I have anxiety sometimes and sleeping issue, which I think won't be resolved. I have low self esteem and confidence. Do I need antidepressants? Should I take it for increasing my confidence? I am not on antidepressants since last 8 months. I took fluvoxamine, fluoxetine, amitriptyline earlier.

Dear Imtiyaz, Antidepressants are prescribed for the treatment of depression. Depression will be diagnosed by the doctor by going through your symptoms and ruling out other possible causes for those symptoms. They are NOT confidence boosting tablets. If your low self esteem and confidence are due to depression, any antidepressant tablet will help you to get back your confidence.
