Is there any test to be done to confirm type one or type 2 diabetes. My diabetologist is confusing me a lot on that and charging very high every time I visit his clinic.

For type-1 diabetes diagnosis- blood test for auto antibody which destroys beta cell of pancreas, presence of ketone in blood for type @ diabetes do blood sugar (fasting and post prandial testing,), hba1c (glycosulated hemoglobin) testing consult diabetologist/physician with report for advice and treatment.
