I have 5.5 years autism boy. Doctor suggested to give valance syrup 2.5 ml at morning and night. Neuro-m syrup 5 ml at night and sizodon syrup 0.5 mg at night. I am giving tis past 1 week. Could you please suggest how long it take to see the development on speech and attention. I am also giving speech therapy and occupational therapy as well.

Autism is best treated with speech and occupational therapy only. Medications are to manage associated features of irritability and self injurious behavior. Unless the severity of impairment is assessed it is difficult to predict the improvement and improvement varies from case to case. So.we will have to assess in detail before we can give a valid treatment structure.

The syrups being given are to reduce the behaviour problems and won't directly improve the speech. Consult a child psychiatrist for proper doing of the same. Only intensive ot and speech therapy would improve the outcome in the parameters you mentioned, medications will help him being receptive to the same. Good luck.
