One of my female friend is experiencing knee pain for a long time. After first event we checked with doctor, went for physiotherapy and pain went away. But suddenly after 2-3 months gap it occurred again. We took advise from many doctors. Some doctors diagnosed that it is chondromalacia. One doctor diagnosed that it is patella alta and recommended surgery. At the end we went to aiims after checking reports (mri abd xray) they said neither it is chondromalacia not it is patell alta. Also they said no surgery is needed. They ask us to go for mri again because current mri has no sign of chondromalacia. We are taking physio for more than 2 months. Stiffness while walking and pain while using staircase is still there. Sometime pain spikes suddenly while resting also. It looks like that it is not recovering.
