I am a 23 year old british male who has recently arrived in china. After going to the hospital to do some mandatory health tests they have diagnosed me with hepatolithiasis. This seems very strange to me as I meet none of the risk criteria (whilst I am in china I am british, and I am also young). I am considering going to a different hospital and asking for a scan and diagnosis as well, however I was wondering if this is a particularly severe problem. I currently am experiencing no symptoms from this, and I do not wish to pay the medical costs (and I cannot afford to take the amount of time I would need off from my job, as I have read the treatment tends to be surgery on the liver). Would I be ok to just carry on as usual, or is this something that needs to be treated?
