Vit d suppliments is recommended only if deficiency is there. Take only the recommended dose otherwise it might cause toxicity. Vit d rich foods should be consumed. Eg beef liver, cheese, yogurt, egg yolk, fish and mushrooms. Daily 20-30 min of exposure to the sun is essential for daily requirement of vit d. Hope this helps you.
