Hello Ms. lybrate-user, an electric toothbrush will control the strokes and motion of brushing well, but it is still our responsibility to ensure it reaches all corners of our mouth including the inside surface of the teeth; as well as brush for the required time duration. I recommend electric toothbrush in young kids, older ages or if the dominant hand has lost its dexterity (eg fracture). Electric tooth brush can be slightly helpful oveer normal tooth brush, more important will be proper strokes of the brush with required force making sure not to enhnace any trauma to the gums.
