I am suffering from anal fissure. My doctor has asked to go for colonoscopy as I have this problem since 5 years which has been treated once 5 years back and got it again 2 days back. Would like to ask can the colonoscopy be done while having anal fissure? As the preparation for colonoscopy includes some medication for clearing the colon which causes too many motions which I think could worsen my fissure. Could you please suggest what should I do. Should I wait for it to be healed?

Colonoscopy is not recommended in acute anal fissure as it will worsen your symptoms. You should treat your anal fissure conservatively. This can be effectively managed by without surgery by kshar karma sittings.
