It's for my 6 years kid. Having a perforated ear drum. Clinical notes it's written as "small cp right" doctor suggests myringoplasty in view of non healing for 3 months. After repeated visit why it is not healing. I can see some white patches around the hole in his photo.in web site I read medicine to apply inside for healing the hole anything like that? How much is the surgery cost and resting period after it? Waiting for your kind reply. Thanks.

Perforation in the eardrum should be closed by tympanoplasty. This prevents recurrent ear discharge, improves hearing and prevents further complications. The drawbacks are, it is not successful in all cases .you should follow certain precautions in the postoperative period until the graft has taken. You should consult your doctor when ever you get a head cold or ear ache. If it is a small central perforation and is dry, your doctor could just freshen the edges of perforation under local anaesthesia by chemical cauterisation or laser. This will coax the body to heal it over a period of a couple of weeks. It is a simple outpatient procedure and costs just a fraction of the cost of an ear surgery and requires no bedrest or hospitalisation.
