Hi Doctor, I am hailing from Chennai, near by my house there is a Park which consists of hard surface walking. I went for a week there and I developed a leg strain. I thought it was my shoes that was not proper. Then I realized that the shoes were proper because I walked in the roads of Chennai. It was smooth. My question is on what surface should I walk. Because practically in Chennai all the parks consists of Hard surfaces. Please advice me on this? Thanks

Walking on hard surface should not cause any problem. We walk on hard surface everywhere. But running on hard surface can cause problem, mainly in joints. Leg strain could be because of other reason like bending, stretching or if you have not walked for long time.
