Hair loss post-pregnancy is a very common phenomenon. This occurs because of withdrawal of female hormones estrogene and progesterone. This is also known as telogen effluvium post-partum. The recovery of this hair loss starts almost 4-6 months later after giving birth and in about 12 months you are back to normal. You must have a rich diet during this period. It is also useful to get your iron levels checked.
