Hi lybrate-user, muscle mass and body weight gain depends upon many factors like diet, sleep, exercise etc. According to your weight and height you come under healthy category of BMI which is an indicator to check whether you are over weight or under weight. If you are taking 2300calories and working out more then your intake is less which is not enough to build muscles. The amount of protein your taking also matters according to your weight you need to take 63gms of protein through diet and that too good quality protein like milk, curd, paneer, eggs, chicken, fish, sprouts, rajmah, soyabean, chole, sattu etc in your diet, and also equally distribute them in your meals. Apart from these things it is also necessary to include good amount of complex carb sources in your diet like whole wheat atta, oats, Bajra, Jowar to provide energy and proteins will be used to build muscles, repair worn out tissues. If your carb intake is less then also you don't gain muscles and weight, as proteins do carbs work and finally they are not being used for muscle mass gain.
