Hi mam, fatty liver is an initial phase when damage of liver starts happening, it indicated degenerative changes in liver in the begining .DM might contribute to liver damage by promoting inflammation and fibrosis through an increase in l oxidative stress mediated by adipokines (vhemicals which cause inflammation). Recent reports regarding the use of the SGLT2 inhibitors as well as the new incretin-based therapies such as injectable glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonists and oral inhibitors of dipeptidylpeptidase-4 (DPP-4).But an opinion from physician is required for the optimiztion of the medications .You must visit your primary physician for the adjustment of the medications. Best of luck.
