Make sure you plan your routine properly. Sleep helps to consolidate memory and for prompt recall during stressful condition (exams for instance) sound sleep of 7-8 hours is essential. So 8 hours sleep, 10 hours study will leave 6 hours for other activity. So plan accordingly. And make the habit of writing whatever you have read/ are reading. Being involved will reduce chances of falling sleep.
