I am 27 years old with no medical history and normal t3 and t4 levels but my tsh is 12.5.since I am suffering from hypothyroidism can you suggest me a levothyroxine tablet and it's dose. I would be grateful.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query You should start with a dose of 75 mcg daily, to begin with. Then check TSH again after 6 weeks, if the level remains high (above 3 mU/L) then there has to be further increase in the dose. You will have to check TSH every 6 to 8 weeks till the levels are stabilsed to about 2 to 3 mU/L. Thanks.
