Teeth Grinding, also called bruxism, is dental condition that most people suffer from at some point in their lives. Occasional teeth grinding generally does not cause much harm, but those who grind their teeth often may face consequences related to oral and dental health. This problem may be caused by nervousness, anxiety and stress. Most people grind their teeth in their sleep. It is likely to occur more often due to abnormal overbite or due to absent or crooked teeth. Teeth grinding while sleeping may cause headaches and jaw aches while awake- leading to awareness of the condition. Teeth may become loose or may fracture if the problem is chronic.
