A genetic disorder, spinal muscular atrophy impairs the muscle movements by damaging the pathways of neuron cells between the brain and the spinal cord. Routine activities like moving your head, walking, sitting are impaired and weakened. The mutation currently has no cure, however, supportive measures like braces, feeding support, and surgery of the spine can be availed to effectively manage it.
