Post traumatic stress disorder is a mental health condition which can be triggered by some traumatic event. The signs and symptoms include nightmares, flashbacks of the traumatic event, severe anxiety, sleep problems and uncontrollable thoughts about the incident. Some people fail to cope with PTSD which leads to further worsening of the condition. This disorder can also be caused by the way your brain controls the chemicals and hormones released by the body in response to stress.
