Young women are more prone to OHS and the symptoms become more dangerous. Young age and low body weight are two factors, which increase the risk of OHS. OHS can be kept under control and cured if the patient avoids physical exertion, refrains from drinking aerated drinks and stays in medication. In exceptional cases, OHS can lead to life threatening complications like ovarian clots, electrolyte imbalance and renal failure.
