Cortisol is rare reason for anxiety and depression. Common neurotransmitter implicated is serotonin and it is not simple to understand the interplay between hormones and neurotransmitters ( but basic explanation can be given to a lay person). It needs understanding of neuroanatomy, neurophysiology, neurochemistry and psychiatry, apart from general medical knowledge how these produce the symptoms and treatment.

Yes lybrate-user, you can be completely normal without phone. You just need to have some counselling with a psychotherapist and after that Dr. will tell you some therapeutic techniques to be follow, for improving your consciousness in the present moment, for memory increasing and how to cope with the withdrawal symptoms of mobile addiction.

Hello Lybrate user
medicine is not the only solution, you have to take therapy sessions as well with psychologist. As you said you have been taking medicines since long. Anxiety and depression are the result of stress of some past experience. Cognitive behavioral therapy is very helpful for this condition. Cbt addresses the here and now, and focuses less on the past. Hi lybrate-user
I assume youâre in a lot of distress right now. During such a time itâs very important to have someone to talk to. I strongly suggest you either contact a psychiatrist near you or online. Only after discussing things with you can they be resolved effectively. From your description itâs not clean when the medications have been started either. Prodep is a safe medication you can continue it
hope this helps

If you have visited a psychiatrist and they have prescribed these medications you should have belief in the doctor. They have the best in mind for you and your loved one. If you have questions regarding treatment you can talk to the psychiatrist who prescribed the medication. I hope this helps. Take care and I hope your mother gets well soon.
