50 years old female pt came to clinic with a complaint of pus discharge from extraction site. She told that extraction of upper rt molar was done 5 months back. Since then there is pus discharge from extraction site. She went to many doctors but she got no relief. Opg was advised. In opg there is opaque structure found in molar area, whats the diagnosis and treatment plan?

Unilateral maxillary sinus opacity is usually inflammatory in origin, fungal sinusitis and neoplastic disorder are also likely. A careful history-taking, a thorough head and neck examination
including nasal endoscopy, and ct evaluation are all imperative for reaching a correct diagnosis. One has to consider the increasing likelihood of fungal sinusitis or a neoplasm. Inflammatory disease is the major cause of unilateral maxillary sinus opacity.

There is no need to replace the missing wisdom tooth because its a nonfunctional tooth. Regarding pain the ear, consult an ent.

Hello, i’m a 24 year old female and I have just extracted my lower wisdom tooth 4 weeks ago. The tooth was partially impacted and I had a infection which needed to be removed with it. The dentist did not prescribe me antibiotics until after I removed the stitches which was 2 weeks later. My problem now is after taking the antibiotics and 4 weeks going by, I have a hard lump near my jaw. It does’t really hurt to touch it but it is sensitive. I also am noticing a pimple like structure inside of my mouth. The lump has been there ever since the huge swelling as gone down. But I really don’t see a decrease in size of the hard lump in the past weeks. Also the pimple showed up after I finished taking the antibiotics. As far as pain I do not have any. It’s just discomfort. Why do you think I have this lump? And what should I do? Or how long will it take to heal?

Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations with clinical examination to decide upon treatment (need to look for any residual tooth left behind after tooth removal). You may need medicated pack, currettage & irrigation of the extracted site by a dentist. Rinse frequently with mouth wash.

Paresthesia is known to occur after such procedure,
it is not your dentists fault.
take the following precautions,
1. Good diet with multivitamins esp vitamin b complex
2. Jaw exersise to stimulate blood flow and healing
3. avoid very hot foods

Cost of dental implant is around 30 000 to 40 000 per tooth. Root canal 2600 and cost of crown depends on its type ranges from 1500 to 5000.

I had oral surgery for extraction of lower impacted wisdom tooth last week. Doctor also extracted upper wisdom tooth of that teeth. Today my stitches are removed. They said that you can start eating normal foods. But I can't open my mouth fully. When can I start eating hard foods? They said healing was proper. How many days it will take to disappear the wound which is formed due to incision.

Advise wide mouth opening exercise 100 times per day & side to side movement for the jaw muscles. Bundling ice cream sticks & thrusting the bundle between your upper & lower back tooth region. Increase ice cream stick 1 by 1 every day to increase mouth opening. 1 month for complete open wound healing.

I had wisdom teeth extraction few days ago and during procedure I got syncope attack. I've experienced this in past as well when I got blood from nose and I fainted. I mostly get syncope attack when I see, smell or even imagine blood. I used to get anxiety attack as I have psychological issues. I just thought abt blood flow from heart to brain and suddenly I started to feel weak, low bp, heaviness in heart and gastritis. Is it a sign of any underlying disease or a psychological matter?

I've had upper 2nd molar extraction last year. It was broken in 2017 but few pieces remained. I've got cbct scanning and according to report my bone length is only 7 mm not sufficient fr dental implant. Cyst benign tumors is also seen in scanning and adjacent teeth has caries that was filled by a dentist. I'm 5.3 and weight is just 43 kg (loss 4 kg in lockdown). I have vitamin d deficiency (6.05) and low vitamin b3, b9, k. I do also have indigestion problems and hookworm infection was detected in stool in 2015. A week ago I had impacted wisdom teeth extraction and during procedure I experience syncope attack. Doc has talked to me and advised not to go for implant as i'm not healthy and have vitamins deficiency, you'll need 4 mm bone grafting and as you're not healthy complications can come you got to suffer then. I don't wanna have dental bridges as it may damage adjacent teeth.

Hi Shubham, you can go ahead with implant but take vitamin B and D supplements for 2 months before starting off with the procedure. There are short implant options also but your bone density need to improve before placing implant.
