Home Remedies For Cystic Acne: Procedure, Recovery, Risk & Complication

What is the remedy about?

Home remedies for cystic acne include a wide array of things that you can do. Cystic acne can be a very problematic issue especially in teenagers and mostly happens due to hormonal imbalances. The main remedy among all the others for cystic acne is the use of baking soda. Baking soda does wonders on cystic acne. It acts as an anti-inflammatory agent which largely reduces the inflammation. It extracts the excess oil from the skin and removes all the dead skin cells. It eliminates all the impurities from the skin pores through exfoliation. Baking soda also acts as an antiseptic and kills all the bacteria in the skin. Combine baking soda with water and apply the dense paste on the affected area and wash away after few minutes. The remedy for cystic acne will tighten your skin and give you a more radiant and glowing outlook. Don't worry about acne scars. Your skin will improve rapidly and all you need to do is have patience. Among the other agents that you can use is apple cider vinegar which is well known for its astringent and anti-bacterial properties. It will maintain the pH level of your skin. Apple cider vinegar contains malic acid which helps in exfoliation of your skin. Among the essential oils, tea tree oil and lavender oil are very helpful but never apply them directly on the affected region. Mix them with water or a carrier oil or some moisturizer and then apply the mixture. They will unclog your oil glands and remove all the impurities. Some other home remedies include usage of honey, coconut oil which is very effective in removing acne scars, egg white, turmeric, juniper oil and many other day-to-day things that are very easily available.

Are there any side effects?

Home remedies are usually considered as safe. They are safe when compared to chemical products. But yes, there will be side-effects if you don’t use the right ingredient for your skin. You must know your skin properly to avoid any side-effects. Also, you must know if you are allergic any of the home remedies. If you have an allergy to a certain oil or food, applying it on your skin will certainly affect it and applying it on acne will even aggravate it more. If you have an extremely oily skin, then better avoid oils. You can apply them but you have to know which oil can clog your pores. Using wrong oils can lead to the formation of whiteheads on your skin. Also, check whether the oils or any other natural product that you are using has not expired. Because if you use any product that is too old then also you may get rashes. It is always recommended that if you have sensitive skin, then you must try and avoid acidic products like vinegar. So it is even better to perform a patch test before applying anything directly on your acne. Now, what is a patch test? It is not that tough. All you need to do is put a small amount of the product on the inside portion of your arm, and then you can wash it off say about 15 minutes later. Then just wait for two days to see if you get any rashes or any other kind of irritation. If yes, then do not use the product and if no, then well and good, you can use the product on your acne.

What are the post-remedy guidelines?

Well, curing cystic acne is not the ultimate solution. Even after the remedy, you have to take care of your skin so that the problem doesn’t return. So if you want to keep acne away you must wash your face regularly and use a cleanser that suits your skin. This will keep your skin fresh. Also, prefer skin products that are oil free. Oily products have a tendency to clog your skin pores causing accumulation of dirt and then ultimately leading to acne. Wash you face whenever you sweat too much especially after a workout. Avoid using make-up products that contain ingredients like Isopropyl Myristate and Lanolin because they can make acne come back. Perseverance is the key, understand your skin and practice a good skin care regime.

How long does it take to recover?

That is not certain. It depends on the acuteness of your problem. But most people give up in 1 or 2 weeks. Don’t do that. Wait for at least a few weeks say about at least 4 to 6 weeks. If you notice your past acne drying up, that means your treatment is working. Be patient and continue the same remedy and you will have your results in a few months. With time you will see that even the scars will disappear.

Are the results of the remedy permanent?

Nothing is permanent is this world. Not even the results of cystic acne remedy. It may come back at any point of time. But it won’t if you take good care of your skin. Stay clean and wash your skin properly. We all crave for a perfectly spotless skin. But you can’t just get it by sitting idly. Improve your diet and exercise regularly. This will help your body in detoxification and will give you a glowing skin. Use turmeric paste or aloe Vera gel one or two times a week. If you follow all these guidelines properly, you can resist acne from coming back.

Is there any training or experts required?

No training or experts are required for treating acne. Home remedies are enough to treat it if you can follow the guidelines properly. Don’t say home remedies are not useful before even trying them. Try the remedies that seem fit to you and then see the results for yourself. Even then if you are not happy, you are free to visit a dermatologist but remember, it is always preferable to use natural things than the chemical treatments. So prefer home remedies over the chemical treatments.

Facial Rejuvenation: Advantages of Dermal Fillers For Perfect Skin!
Facial aging is an issue which shows its first signs around the late twenties and early thirties. It is manifested in the form of fine lines, dark circles, wrinkles and rough skin, especially near the eyes and lips. This process cannot be reversed. It is a part of human body and the way the skin matures with age. But, it can be treated through surgical and non-surgical or natural means to make sure that the process of aging is slowed down. Factors Affecting Facial Aging: There are several factors which affect the facial aging and aggravate the process faster. Some of these factors are: If you smoke excessively, your face would sooner or later start showing signs of aging prematurely. At times, this process gains speed due to genetic issues. Stress and anxiety are the most important reasons for a person to start showing signs of aging at an early stage of life. If you lead a hectic lifestyle which involves excessive travelling throughout different climates, the exhaustion may be manifested through facial aging. What are Dermal Fillers? Dermal fillers help to diminish facial lines and restore volume and fullness in the face. As we age, our faces naturally lose subcutaneous fat. The facial muscles are then working closer to the skin surface, so smile lines and crow's feet become more apparent. The facial skin also stretches a bit, adding to this loss of facial volume. Other factors that affect the facial skin include sun exposure, heredity, and lifestyle. Dermal fillers can be used to: Plump thin lips Enhance shallow contours Soften facial creases and wrinkles Improve the appearance of recessed scars Dermal fillers can be very helpful in those with early signs of aging, or as a value-added part of facial rejuvenation surgery. Administration: You must make a note of the fact that dermal filling is not considered to be a type of surgical treatment. However, it does use anaesthesia while being administered. In fact, the patient is first given a dose of anaesthesia and left to rest for about half an hour. Some fillers have anesthesia in the syringe itself otherwise, we apply numbing cream or topical anesthesia. Thereafter, dermal fillings are applied with the help of fine needles. You need to realise that the use of fine needles with precision can be done only by those who have been specially trained for it. Thus, if your dermatologist recommends you for a treatment of dermal filling, then he/she ought to be a trained expert in carrying out the procedure. If you, on your own prefer to get this treatment done, then you should also find an expert who is well trained in administering this procedure. Thus, dermal fillers are quite famous in the world of facial dermatology to reverse the aging process. It helps in reducing fine lines, wrinkles and adds volume and smoothness to the skin.

Appendectomy - Long Term Complications Associated With It!
What is an Appendectomy? An appendectomy (which is sometimes referred to appendicectomy ) is the surgical elimination of the organ known as the appendix. Appendectomy is mostly performed as an emergency surgical procedure, when patients suffer from appendicitis. How is Appendectomy Performed? Appendectomy can be performed both as an open operation as well as laparoscopically. An appendectomy is most often performed laparoscopically, if the diagnosis is in doubt, or if the patients feel that they need to hide their telltale surgical scars near their umbilicus or in the pubic hair line. However, although laparoscopic appendectomy has its cosmetic advantages, and its recovery time is a little quicker, this procedure is more expensive than conventional open surgery. Conventional Open Appendectomy- In the conventional open surgery, the surgeon makes an incision which is less than 3 inches in length in the lower right section of the abdomen. Once the infected appendix is identified, the surgeon separates the infected appendix from its surrounding tissues and removes it surgically from the cecum (an intraperitoneal pouch that forms the junction of the small and large intestine). After that, the cecum is closed and is returned back into the abdomen. In the end, the muscle layers and the skin are sewn together and the incision is closed. Laparoscopic Appendectomy (LA)- While performing appendectomy laparoscopically, which is also known as LA, four incisions of 1 inch in length are made in the abdomen. One incision is made near the umbilicus, while another one is made in an appropriate region between the umbilicus and the pubis. The other two incisions, which are even smaller in size, are made in the right side of the lower abdomen. The surgeon then passes the camera and special laparoscopy instruments through these openings and after identifying, frees the appendix from its surrounding tissues. Next, the appendix is removed from the cecum and the site of its former attachment is sewed. The infected appendix is removed from the body of the patient through any one of the two 1 inch incisions. In the end, the laparoscopic instruments are removed and the incisions are sutured and closed. During this whole procedure, the intraperitoneal space is filled with medical grade carbon dioxide gas, to inflate the abdomen, which is released after the surgery. Recovery Time For Appendectomy- The recovery time for appendectomy depends on and varies with the type of procedure and anesthesia used during the surgery. While laparoscopic appendectomy can be done on an outpatient basis so that the patients can recover back at home, an open surgical procedure will require an overnight or even longer hospital stay. Normally patients after appendectomy can resume their normal daily activities within a few days. However, for full recovery, it may take four to six weeks. Patients are advised to avoid strenuous activities during this period of time. Risk and Long Term Consequences of Removing the Appendix- While wound infections are the most common complications of this surgery, formation of an abscess in the area of the surgical incision and also in the area close to the removed appendix has also been noticed as an aftermath of appendectomy. Other rare complications may include lack of intestinal peristalsis (ileus), gangrene of the bowel, injuries to the internal organs and infections in the peritoneal cavity (peritonitis). Major long-term consequences of appendectomy include increased risks of bowel obstruction, stump appendicitis (infection in the retained portion of the appendix still stuck with the cecum) and development of incisional hernia at the site of the scar.

Eat These 5 Foods And You Will Never Need Botox!
What you eat has a direct effect on your skin; eat healthy and your skin looks healthy, eat unhealthy food and your skin looks dull. Eating right can even fight signs of aging thus, negating the need for procedures like Botox. Not only does it cost less, but healthy food boosts your overall health as well. Here are 6 such foods that can help you fight signs of aging and give you a flawless complexion. Turmeric: Turmeric is well known for its yellow colour and anti-inflammatory properties. Many home remedies suggest the use of turmeric for a number of health ailments including skin conditions. Turmeric can fight signs of aging by reducing inflammation and oxidation. This, in turn, helps the skin heal faster. This spice can be added to your food or mixed with warm milk to benefit from it. Tomatoes: Tomatoes are rich sources of vitamin C and lycopene. These berries also have anthocyanins that boost the effects of vitamin C Honey: Honey can be eaten or applied topically on the skin to benefit from it. Honey helps keep the body hydrated by absorbing moisture and preventing the skin from drying out. It also has antibacterial properties that prevent acne and other breakouts. Ideally, honey should be used and consumed in its raw, unprocessed form. Nuts: Nuts are a great snack that keeps your skin looking young and fresh. Almonds are excellent sources of vitamin E that help fight acne, psoriasis and eczema among other skin ailments. Walnuts are rich in Omega-3 fatty acids that keep the skin soft and supple. Brazil nuts are also rich sources of vitamin E. However, keep in mind the high calorific value of these nuts and do not overindulge in them. Avocados: Avocados are filled with essential fatty acids that moisturize and nourish skin. They are also rich in Vitamin B, C and E. While vitamin C boosts collagen production, vitamin E maintains the elasticity of skin and prevents sagging.
