Suffering From a Cold and Cough? Try These Remedies!!
Common cold can be defined as a viral infection affecting one s upper respiratory tract (throat and nose) characterized by mild fever, sneezing, body aches and headaches, congestion, cough, sore throat, runny nose and a general feeling of being unwell. It takes around 10 days to recover completely from the sickness. Although there is no treatment as such for common cold, however, few remedies might ease the symptoms. Stay Hydrated: Lemon and honey mixed with lukewarm water, in addition to clear chicken broth, works therapeutically on congestion or dehydration. However, refrain from caffeinated sodas, coffee and alcohol; beverages that can aggravate dehydration. Rest: Your body requires time to heal. Therefore, sufficient rest should be the utmost priority. Soothe your Sore Throat: A saltwater gargle early in the morning can bring great relief for your throat. Hard candy, lozenges and sore throat sprays can be used as alternatives if you cannot gargle properly. Sip on Something Warm: Nothing feels better than a hot clear chicken soup when you are down with fever. It works wonderfully on the sore throat. Other warm beverages such as tea or a cup of warm clove juice helps to improve nose and throat congestion by easing the mucous flow. Take Medications: Pain relievers, antihistamines (drugs to treat allergies) and decongestants might contribute to some relief. Nevertheless, these over-the-counter medicines cannot prevent or cure cold entirely. What not to consider as remedies? Antibiotics: Antibiotics help fight bacterial infections and are hence, not as effective against viral infections, the main contributor towards common cold. Cold medications for children below 6: Over-the-counter drugs may have life-threatening consequences for children below the age of 6.

5 Homeopathic Remedies To Cure Deep Chest Cough!
Come winter or even a slight change of season, and it is easy to catch a cold. With cold, it is quite normal and natural to develop a deep chest cough. However, it is to be noted that chest cough develops due to different reasons. Some are due to chest infections, while others are dry cough. Thus, for these different variations of cough, different homeopathic treatments are administered. Here is a list of some of the common types of treatments for curing deep chest cough- Pulsatilla: Pulsatilla is administered to those who have a sore throat, constant irritation in the eyes and fever. When fever is accompanied with cough and cold, it is important to treat all three symptoms, lest it might usher in a more serious disease. Homeopathy is often described as a holistic form of treatment. Through the medicines, the personality of the patient can be determined. For instance, Pulsatilla is administered on those who are soft, gentle, mild and timid and who have a fear of being abandoned and thus cling on to people. Nux Vomica: Those experiencing high levels of stress and falling prey to cough and cold with a sore throat and sharp pain while swallowing should try a dose of Nux Vomica. This is used to cure cough and cold, which block the nose, especially at night, making it troublesome for the individual to breathe. This might also cause blockage in the ear and sharp pains while trying to swallow food. Phosphorus: At times, one experiences an extreme bout of cough that is triggered through dry throat and coarse fever. This violent cough can be nerve wrecking at times and a relaxing remedy is preferred by the patient as soon as possible to soothe the irritation. Bryonia: This is the best medicine to treat dry cough that can be a symptom of a slowly approaching influenza. Such coughs occurs when an individual takes a high intake of cold drinks or due to sudden weather changes. The cough is followed by fever and dryness of the throat. It might also itch to a certain extent. Natrum Mur: It is the best treatment for a dry cough, which often causes a tingling sensation in the throat. This sensation creates irritation and often leads to sleepless nights for the patient. There is also presence of whitish mucus in such types of cough. These are some of the most common types of homeopathic treatments for treating deep chest cough. Each cough is different in nature and origin, and hence should be treated differently as per the individual symptoms.

Typhoid Fever - Follow These Steps and Prevent It!
Typhoid is an infectious bacterial fever with an eruption of red spots on the chest and abdomen and severe intestinal irritation, brought about by the Salmonella typhi bacteria. It can also be brought about by Salmonella paratyphi, a related bacterium that generally causes a less extreme sickness. The bacteria are stored in water or in the food by a human carrier and are then spread to other individuals around them. There are many ways to avoid typhoid fever: Vaccination: Take one dose of the vaccine one week before travelling. The other is given orally in four cases, with one container to be taken every alternate day. Neither one of the vaccines is 100% effective. Both require repetitive immunisation since the effect of vaccines diminishes over time. Washing your hands: Frequently washing your hands in hot, soapy water is the most ideal approach to control contamination. Wash before eating or cooking food and after using the toilet. Use a hand sanitiser in cases where water isn't accessible. Drinking clean water: There are a few ways in which you can avoid getting typhoid fever spread by contaminated water. Abstain from drinking untreated water. Contaminated drinking water is a specific issue in areas where typhoid fever is endemic. Thus, drink only boiled or filtered water, or canned or packaged carbonated drinks. Carbonated filtered water is more secure than non-carbonated filtered water. Request drinks without ice. Use filtered water to brush your teeth and try not to swallow water in the shower. Clean water can get contaminated again in case it is not put away securely. Store the clean drinking water in a container with a little opening and use it within four hours. Staying away from raw fruits and vegetables: Maintain a strategic distance from crude foods grown in the ground. Since crude produce may have been washed away in water, maintain distance from products of the soil that you cannot peel, particularly lettuce. To be totally protected, you might need to stay away from street food completely. Cooking: Pick hot foods. Keep away from food that is put away or served at room temperature. Steaming hot nourishments are ideal. Also, in spite of all precautions, there is no assurance that the food served at the finest restaurants is safe for your health. It is best to stay away from foods served by street side vendors. Completely cook all meats, fish and vegetables. Eat them while they are still hot. Washing: Wash your dishes and utensils with proper dish washing soap and water. Wash your cutting board particularly well with a cleanser and water. Peeling: Peeling fruits and vegetables protects you from typhoid. Eat natural products that have been freshly washed and peeled, for example, oranges and bananas.

The common cold is the most frequent infection in all age groups. Children especially contract a lot of colds. Colds are caused by a viral infection that effects the respiratory system. Colds often respond well to homeopathic remedies which is a tremendous advantage over modern medicine which has no cure for the common cold. Homeopaths generally advise that a cold or two every year is not a bad thing, as it “cleans out” the system and hence, the adage: don’t cure a cold, let a cold cure you.  Still others say that you never know what your “innocent/ordinary” cold might erupt into–a flu, a pneumonia? Homeopathy emphasises treating the underlying imbalance in the immune system rather than simply fighting the infection–although in the moment, fighting the infection may be the priority.  You can easily take an online consultation for further treatment guidance

Cetrazine is not the remedy. When you have to leave your office, switch off the AC 10-15 minutes earlier. You can use umbrella outside. Keep some ginger drops in small bottle (taken out from crushed ginger). Just apply 2-3 drops externally with fingers. And enjoy. Else you can buy our Wonder Drops (Multipurpose). Keep the temp of AC 27-28.

Place eight to 10 drops of juniper essential oil in water in a 1-ounce nasal spray bottle. Use four to six times per day, shaking the mixture before each use. Hot drinks and honey. Any warming drink can help soothe a sore throat, suppress a cough, and calm the overall commotion of a cold or flu.

Cold in Children
Hello, everybody, I am Dr Rahul Yadav, a paediatrician. Today we'll be discussing a very important topic with our home remedies related to children regarding cold. So now, as you all know cold and chest congestion is very common among children and it might occur as many times as six to seven times every year. This is a pretty much normal for each and every kid. If you have a child you would have definitely experienced the agony of the child having cold and chest condition during any time during his childhood. So, first of all, I would like to give you one piece of warning. A child with cold and chest congestion having sneezing, which might be increased intensity of sounds when the child is breathing in or out, signs of respiratory distress which might be increased, work of breathing increase rate or breathing or difficulty in even uttering normal words. In that scenario, you have to rush the child immediately go to the nearest doctor or to an emergency or hospital near your home. Another scenario would be if your child is suffering from asthma. In that scenario, I would advise you to take proper precautions and follow the instructions of your doctor regarding inhalers or nebulizers before trying any of the following home remedies. So what actually can become very indiscreet. Home remedies can treat a child suffering from cold with no signs of respiratory distress with a few gurgling sounds while breathing. Is it actually useful? Actually yes home remedies might even be better than medicines. Any common day-to-day cold and chest congestion. So what are the home remedies can do. One is the easiest would be to start honey. Honey has natural immune boosters which you can easily stage. Can it be given to each and every child? Yes, it can be given to each and every child but do not use it for any child less than one year of age. The reason behind it would be because of the incidence of bottling improxim in the honey which can be very deadly towards the less than one year of age. You can even mix the honey with a little bit of lemon juice or ginger paste to make the child accept those Honey well. With honey you have to just pick up the caution in a case of a diabetic child and that you should not be over given the honey but in an otherwise, you can give the honey as many as times as you want. Maybe 1 psf every three to four hour. Another thing another home remedy that you can try out is humidification. Humidification can be done by either a cold humidification or humidification. Cold humidification is safer. Warm humidification is by the steam. Steam is very dangerous in a child as it can lead to burns also. So the better way is to close all the doors and windows of the house and thus put the steamer in one corner of the room and let the whole room be humid, that will help the child a lot. Another thing that you can do is to use normal sign nasal drops to keep the nostrils of the child clean. As the child's nose remains clean, the child will be able to breathe easier and would be much more comfortable and would even respond better to other measures. As you have to remember that cold in a child is ninety-nine percent because of viruses and that it generally takes seven to ten days for the treatment to average space and it's a natural course of the disease. So have to wait for that time you have to be patient. These are the common remedies that you can do which will elevate most of the symptoms that your child would be suffering from. If you have any other queries regarding this or any other issues regarding to pediatrics you can contact me at lybrate.com.
