there are many different options for closing gaps between teeth. It depends on the size of the gap and the desired outcome from a functional and cosmetic point of view. The various options include:

For temporary solution floss all your teeth inter dentally with inter dental brushes. For permanent relief go in for a new crown.

the gap can be due to cavity also. Get the teeth checked again for cavity.
If the gap is natural, due to constant food lodgement and due to poor oral hygiene, the gums may have receeded in that particular area, causing a pocket formation, that causes pain whenever the food is lodging there.
Get deep cleaning of that area and in case a cavity is there, get it restored.
Use floss daily and brush twice a day.
Rinse the mouth after every meal.

Tongue thrusting habit can be broken with an habit breaking appliance. Consult an orthodontist in person for treatment.

Its a temporary remedy with decay as side effect if you do not maintain it. Go for braces to close gaps.

Hello Lybrate user. The gap after scaling is due to removal of calculus deposits. The small gap will get covered by gingiva. But if the gap is somewhat more means, it won't be closed by gingiva. I advice you to maintain oral hygiene to avoid further discomforts and more calculus deposits which will lead to bone loss and gap formation after scaling. Yes u can get it crowned but I suggest u can get rct done before getting crowned. It will be better then
