I've been suffering from scapular winging. Whether scapular push-ups can be tried to strengthen the rhomboid minor and major, trapezius and serratus anterior muscles? Is scapular winging a result of pinching of a Long thoracic Nerve or Spinal Accessory Nerve or Dorsal Muscular Nerve? Are there any acupressure points and physiotherapy options or yoga aasaanas to cure the same? Does it indicate neurological problems? What kind of diet should I take to cure the same or strengthen my shoulder muscles? Please suggest.

I am a 23 year old female. (5 feet 2 inches) I was diagnosed with scoliosis three years back and the doctors have suggested doing the spinal fusion surgery next month. My curve is at 40 degrees. Is the surgery necessary or will I be able to overcome it without the surgery. I do not experience pain normally. If I walk for a long period of time or if I do activities that put too much pressure on my back it hurts. But I do not experience unbearable pain of any sort.

If it doesn't give you any symptoms, then why go for such a major surgery.
You will hardly gain 3/4 inch in height.

Respected sir, I am service in army mere ko varicose vein problem hai .my doppler report -1 left sf junction is incompetent. 2 deep vein reflux in both sfv and pfv .3 no dvt .4 small varicosity seen in left leg. Sir my ankle and leg is swelling. Mere ko kya treatment karna chahiye. Walking and exercise karna chahiye ya no. Sir I am in 3 month course. If the spinal compression is causing symptoms like weakness of arms and legs, then surgery is needed first as failing that the paralysis will worsen. Once he recovers from that, we can immediately start the chemo. For adenocarcinoma we also have lot of targeted chemotherapy oral medicines which can be given, so ask you Oncologist to do tests for those if not already done.

Health Query

My grandfather (aged 79) suffered three falls and got a crack in his spinal cord. Scans revealed a blood clot in the head and he underwent a surgery to remove it. It has been 2 weeks since his operation and he is now at home but he is sleeping most of the time. He is unable to walk and when we make him sit he is unable to do so and says it is paining a lot. Sometimes he remembers everyone and everything but sometimes he is not responding. Yesterday he sat for a long time and ate well and talked with us but today he is not eating anything and seems to be in a semi-conscious state. What is the reason for this sudden change? The reports have shown C3-C6 spinal cord injury. How should we proceed further? Which specialist should we consult? Is his unresponsiveness related to the surgery he had in the head or due to the spinal cord compression?

I am 39 years old male, I have a mild sensational problem on my left hand side. It is below my arms. I have took an MRI Scan. My MRI Impression is "Right posterolateral disc protrusion at C4-C5, compression the cord, with features of compression cervical myelopathy at C4-C5. There is a mild narrowing of both neural foramen, impinping on bilateral C5 nerve root. Minimal posterior disc bulge at C5-C6 and C6-C7 levels, indenting the theca. Bilateral facial hypertrophy at L4-L5. I need suggestion regrading this. My neurologist's advice is for the spinal surgery and I am not interested in that. I had undergone with spinal surgery (Interlaminar micro-lumber disectomy) on 18th August, it was done due to sensation in legs due to l4 l5 disc diffuse. However, after surgery it took 7 weeks to feel betterment in legs but my backache (due to surgery) is still exists. My doctor told me that I will be back to normal life after 6 weeks, but now I am in 9th week but can not sit/stand for long. I had visited again my doctor he said wait for 3 month. But I am not satisfied I want a second opinion. Hope I did not take a bad decision for surgery. Kindly advise how much time it will take. Also suggest any alternate.
