If you have trouble due to that you can remove the screws otherwise it is not required. I suggest you to wear ankle brace and also mcr chappals to make you feel better. to treat a swollen ankle or leg at home, remember the acronym rice:
rest. Stay off your ankle or leg until you can get to the doctor or until the swelling goes away.
Ice. Put ice on the swollen area as soon as you can for 15 to 20 minutes. Then repeat every three to four hours.

Resisted terminal knee extension: make a loop with a piece of elastic tubing by tying a knot in both ends. Close the knot in a door at knee height. Step into the loop with your injured leg so the tubing is around the back of your knee. Lift the other foot off the ground and hold onto a chair for balance, if needed.
