Sexual disorders are those that result in an individual or a couple experiencing difficulties during any stage of normal sexual intercourse, such as arousal, desire, sensation of physical pleasure and orgasm. They can be caused by psychological reasons such as stress, anxiety, worry or guilt, multiple physiological reasons such as menopause in women and occasionally as side-effects of certain substances, including medication. They are characterized as disorders only when the suffering individuals experience symptoms, distressed and strained relationships over a period longer than three months. Treatments are based on the causes. Medication, psychotherapy and surgery are all various methods of treatment.
HOW IS SEXUAL DISORDERS DIAGNOSED?
Sexual disorders are often based on the human sexual response cycle. Increased time-gap between erection and reduced frequency of erections are also symptoms of sexual weakness.
